Secret Agent "X" #28 Audiobook
Horror’s Handclasp
by G. T. Fleming-Roberts writing as Brant House
Read by Milton Bagby

Operating out of the supposedly haunted Montgomery Mansion, Secret Agent “X” ventures forth in a bewildering array of false identities to infiltrate the darkest underbellies of the Underworld—and destroy it from within. The only clue to his true identity is his haunting whistle…..

The gods of evil sent forth a sardonic, murdering genius of crime, whose unholy face struck terror to the hearts of all who beheld it. And such was the powerful wile of this fiend called the Fury, that even Secret Agent “X” had at last met a checkmate opponent—a tantalizing sadist who made famous men and gorgeous women his pawns to play Satan’s grotesque game of hopscotch upon a gigantic chess board that dealt either death or madness. A seance ends in dead as the touch from a shriveled wraith turns a woman’s flesh into a hideous handprint—a handprint... of death!

The enigma of enigmas, Secret Agent “X” has been deputized by a high government official to battle the darkest, most diabolical enemies of America before they sink their poisonous fangs into the nation’s healthy core. Faceless and unsung, “X” infiltrates these threats in a bewildering array of disguises.

No one knew who Secret Agent “X” really was. Not his readers. Not his editors. Not even his writer, conceivably. To this day, his true identity is still a deep mystery. That’s keeping a secret!

Though known for being a master of disguise, Secret Agent “X” was skilled in multiple ways. A man of keen intellect, he showed throughout the forty one stories a mastery of modern science, various languages, and the uncanny ability to decipher codes and puzzles. He was also a fighter, trained in a variety of techniques, including jiu-jitsu and boxing, which required no weapons. This combination of skills adds to “X”’s uniqueness as a Pulp hero.

Follow the Man of a Thousand Faces as he confronts the menace of Horror’s Handclasp, ripped from the pages of Secret Agent “X” magazine, October 1936 and read with chilling intensity by Milton Bagby.
