The Fibber McGee and Molly Show
The 1944/1945 Season

Timing, many say, is everything in show business, especially in comedy. None knew this better than Jim and Marian Jordan.

Getting their big break on radio in 1924 due to their own lucky timing, it seems Jim and Marian Jordan carried the skill of doing the right things at just the right time to capture listeners and the consciousness of America in the long run of The Fibber McGee and Molly Show. Things like catch phrases from the multitude of characters populating the show to Fibber’s Closet came along at just the right time.

One such wonder of timing, though, that actually premiered on the very first episode was Jim Jordan’s ability to skillfully mutilate English. As described by John Dunning, “The difficult and well-remembered Jordan tongue twisters - when in one long breath Fibber would expostulate some argument or embellish a truth with a gush of sound-alike words beginning with the same letter…” The skill with which Jordan managed these linguistic tricks was impressive and the results hilarious, almost as funny as Marian’s reaction when he would fumble his way through one.

Enjoy an entire season restored to sparkling audio quality in The Fibber McGee and Molly Show, The 1944/1945 Season spotlighting Fibber’s verbal antics, the witty and funny scripts, and the over the top talent that brought it to life each and every week!  Enjoy 19 hours, 37 shows of pure fun.

5 of 5 Fun With Old Friends May 28, 2022
Reviewer: Sir Steven
Decades ago loved to listen to Fibber, Molly and the gang on an Old Time Radio show and loved it so much I ordered a set of 6 cassettes from them.  These days I got a seasons worth of shows on download from Radio Archives. Sure sounds better than the radio or tapes and its nice to be back in Wistful Vista with old friends again, for the first time.  How I listen has changed but the laughs are still fresh and fun.  One of the all time top radio or tv shows in US history.  Thanks RA! And I'm only on show 4, ha!
