Description
My Little Margie & The Trouble With Father
In
"My Little Margie"
, Gale Storm plays a young woman who lives with her widowed father Vern (Charles Farrell) in a Fifth Avenue apartment. Somehow, despite the best of intentions, Margie always manages to find a way to get her father into some kind of trouble. In this collection, you'll enjoy three madcap shows from 1952 and 1953:
Vern's Winter Vacation
Vern has a vacation spot in mind but Margie tricks him into taking her to Palm Beach to be with her boyfriend, Freddie.
Insurance
A stroke of good luck allows Vern to save his company over $60,000.00 by selling a stock. Margie, of course, gets the wrong idea about the sale.
The Case of the Helping Hand
Mr. Honeywell hires a new man for the Dallas office, but let's Margie's dad think the new hire is replacing him. When Margie gets wind of this, she believes that Vern is losing his job and sets off to rescue him from the unemployment line.
In
"The Trouble With Father"
, Stu Erwin portrays a mild mannered high school principal married to a patient and loving wife (June Collyer). She has to be patient, as her husband always seems to be getting into some sort of trouble - particularly small misunderstandings that always seem to grow into massive problems overnight. This set includes three episodes of this popular family situation comedy, dating from 1952-1954:
Jackie Knows All
Harold convinces Jackie to buy a mind reading book, but Jackie soon discovers that it's full of bunk. However, to make the purchase worthwhile, together they cook up a scheme to make everyone around them think that Jackie actually is clairvoyant. (Watch for actors James Dean and Martin Milner in this episode.)
Pearl Necklace
It's the anniversary of the Erwin's engagement. Stu wants to do what's right for June, but finds himself in another crazy situation he needs to get out of.
The Big Business
Stu gets a $1000.00 bonus check from the school board - but what else could this sudden windfall mean?
