Dime Mystery Magazine eBook
Arthur Leo Zagat, Book 3
These exciting pulp adventures have been beautifully reformatted for easy reading as an eBook. As a special bonus, Will Murray has written an introduction especially for this Dime Mystery Magazine series of eBooks.
In 1934 a new type of magazine was born. Known by various names — the shudder pulps, mystery-terror magazines, horror-terror magazines — weird menace is the sub-genre term that has survived today. Dime Mystery Magazine was one of the most popular. It came from Popular Publications, whose publisher Harry Steeger was inspired by the Grand Guignol theater of Paris. This breed of pulp story survived less than ten years, but in that time, they became infamous, even to this day. This ebook contains a collection of stories from the pages of Dime Mystery Magazine, all written by Arthur Leo Zagat, reissued for today’s readers in electronic format.
Table of Contents:
Dime Mystery Magazine — An Introduction
by Will Murray
They Dine in Darkness — September 1935 issue of Dime Mystery Magazine

by Arthur Leo Zagat
Elise Gornoff never guessed the mind-shattering secret harbored by the gloomy old castle that was her home, until the maimed and ravished form of her dearest friend became the terrible omen of what lay in store for her own horror-shaken body.
Terror Beneath the Streets — November 1936 issue of Dime Mystery Magazine
by Arthur Leo Zagat
At seven o’clock on that dread night, New York was a happy, carefree city. Fifteen minutes later every light in the city went out, and as the pall of darkness settled over Manhattan, a frenzied orgy of pillaging and murder began. Roy Parker, seeking his kidnapped sweetheart in that mad throng, knew that he must go beneath the city to find her and the Thing that menaced her!
