I was familiar with the Avenger from listening to some old time radio or reading his comic book adventures. But this was the first time I had read his original stories. I was very, very surprised. Richard Benson--the Avenger--is a very sympathetic character, perhaps the most from any pulp character I've read. I felt the sway of emotions and I'm still thinking about his own personal heartbreak. This is a precious gem of a character. The action and mystery are very well done. I cannot wait to read more from the Avenger!
