Thanks for issuing the 4th volume of "The Big Show". The sound quality on the prior three sets was so superb that you can hear the performers breathe. Your restored programs deliver better sound quality than when they were first broadcast. The reason is that they were originally broadcast over AM radio, which is prone to a variety of flaws such as static, electrical interference, storms, etc. Secondly, the programs were received on the technically inferior radio receivers of the day. Anyone who has had the opportunity to listen to an operating vintage radio from say 1948 will hear a variety of noise which is generated by the radio itself. Noise such as hum, hiss, signal-bleed, and my favorite, the superhetrodyne whistle. By restoring the original source recordings, you automatically eliminate many of the sound flaws the original home audience heard 50, 60, and 70 years ago.
