Dr. Kildare was produced by MGM Studios, starring two of its' greatest male Stars, Lew Ayres and Lionel Barrymore. Lionel Barrymore was devoted to Louis B. Mayer (President of MGM), and refused to take any Television work out of his respect for Mr. Mayer. As a result, Lionel Barrymore's work is primarily in Film and Radio. I met Lew Ayres in Los Angeles at a speech he gave at the Philosophical Research Society, and he was as personal as the part he plays in the Dr. Kildare series. Lew Ayres first film for MGM and the Studios last silent film ever made, was "The Kiss", with Greta Garbo.
This set has amazing sound and tonal quality from the restoration work completed by the Radio Archives Staff. This boxed set comes in heavy duty plastic boxes with individual plastic sleeves for added protection.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for both the magnificent sound as restored by the Radio Archives Staff and the exceptional story line in this most unique Radio Show produced by MGM Studios.

I am listening to the discs you sent, Dr Kildare, even as I keyboard this response. Incredible sound, better than I had hoped even after reading your self-rave! At 52, I have about 50% hearing loss in one ear, about 25% in the other, and it's a struggle to hear much of what I own on tape. Forget about MP3. This is crystal clear and other than having it beamed directly into my brain I can't imagine a better listening experience.
