Bob & Ray Throw A Stereo Spectacular was one of the first stereo demonstration records. Long out of print, this RCA album is now available on CD.
In this spooky adventure, Bob & Ray visit Crazed Electronic Genius, Dr. Ahkbar at the Castle. Ahkbar shows off his latest fiendish experiment, a giant tsetse fly.
Bob's impressions of Peter Lorre (Dr. Ahkbar) and Boris Karloff (Ahkbar's assistant, Gore) are spot on. At the end Bob & Ray meet a fate worse than death. Beautifully produced with lots of cool sound effects. Very funny!
Skitch Henderson, Lena Horne, The Guckenheimer Sour Kraut Band (not to be missed), Julie Andrews, and Abbe Lane perform in bouncing stereo.
So put on your headphones, turn the volume up all the way, pour yourself a stiff drink and/or light up a doobie, then sink into your Barcalounger and enjoy!
